What is e-MPInet ?

e-MPInet is a web site focused on Manufacturing Process Improvement. It is implmented as a news and message bulletin board. News items, questions, etc. can be submitted by web site users for posting to the web site.

How can I help ?

Like any community, help can be: submitting problems, news items, comments, reviews on books read, or product used, suggestions to solve a problem.

Who are you ?

e-MPInet is hosted by RB Associates Ltd., a manufacturing consulting company.

How do I contact you guys about ... anything ?

  • Questions, problems about the web site can be sent to the Webmaster.
  • Suggestions on coverage for future news items, feature articles can be sent to the Editor.
  • Comments on posted news items, articles, etc. can always be made directly to the web site.

    Why should I "create a new account ?

    The "create a new account" feature on the main web page allows you to:

    • create a nick name for all comments and submissions to the web site. This nick name will appear by "posted by" on postings and comments. Submissions made without logging in will be post as "anonymous coward" (that's a little tongue-in-cheek.
    • Change the web site to customize to suit your needs, tastes, etc.
    • Changes are saved, and used when you visit the next time.

    Why should I log in ?

    Logging-in activates the changes the changes you may have made on a previous visit. As long as you don't log out, you "should" automatically be "logged-in" on your next visit.

    How do I submit news items, questions, etc. ?

    On the main page, click on "Submit Story". A web page will be displayed where you can enter your story submission. You will be asked for:

    • Your Name: You can leave blank, use your nick name, real name.
    • Your Email or Homepage: You can leave blank or enter how you can be reached.
    • Subject: Enter the subject of the story submission.
    • Topic and Section: Select a "Topic" and "Section" for the story submission.
    • The Scoop: Enter the the story submission text. It can be plain text, or contain HTML and URL codes. Please check to ensure HMTL/URL coding is correct.
    • Preview Story: Press the button to see what the story will look like when posted to the web site. A new page will be displayed showing how the story submission will be posted. Make any necessary corrections.
    • Submit Story: Press the button to submit the story. Story submissions are reviewed before posting to the web site.

    How do I submit answers to questions, posted ?

    Each question submission posted to the web site has a "Read More.." below it. Click on this, and another web page will be displayed with the question at the top followed by posted comments. Click on Reply to submit a answer to the question, or to another comment made.

    How do I comment on news items, articles ?

    The process is the same as subitting answers to questions (see above). Each news/story submission posted to the web site has a Read More.. below it. Click on this, and another web page will be displayed with the news/story at the top followed by posted comments. Click on Reply to submit a comment to the news/story posted, or to another comment made.

    Is there a fee for using this web site ?

    There is no fee for using the on-line community bulletin board, to post and read submissions.

    Is there users manual for this web site ?

    There is no users manual for this web site. Answers to frequently asked questions will be added to this FAQ page. If you are having a problem using the web site, please contact the Webmaster.
